The Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Indian Institute of Vegetable Research (ICAR-IIVR), Varanasi, has announced multiple temporary positions including Young Professional (YP), Research Associate (RA), Senior Research Fellow (SRF), and Field Assistant/Lab Assistant.

The positions require varying qualifications, including degrees in agriculture or related disciplines, with desirable skills such as computer applications and molecular biology techniques. The contract period is initially for one year, subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements. Indian citizens aged between 21 and 45 years are eligible, with relaxation as per rules.

The selection process involves academic evaluation, written tests, and interviews, with preference given to candidates with prior experience in ICAR schemes. Candidates must submit applications in the prescribed format with essential documents and appear for interviews in person. Qualifications Details for ICAR-IIVR Recruitment 2024

Young Professionals I: Bachelor's in any discipline, Basic knowledge in computer application preferably online database management.

Research Associate: With Doctoral Degree : Ph. D. in Plant Biotechnology/Agricultural Biotechnology/Biotechnology/Botany or With Master's Degree holder, Master's degree in agriculture (M.Sc. (Ag.) (Plant
Biotechnology/Agricultural Biotechnology/Biotechnology, Botany with 4/5 years of Bachelor's Degree with at least three years of research experience as evidences from Fellowship/Training and one research paper in Post Graduate
degree in Agricultural Biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology/Biotechnology/Botany or Graduate degree holders in Agriculture/B. Tech in Biotechnology/Botany) should have NET/GATE qualifications (CSIRNET/DBT-BET/GATE/ICAR- NET) and having 02 years of research experience. Experience in Tissue culture, Genome Editing.

Senior Research Fellow: Master's degree in agriculture (M.Sc.) (Ag.) (Plant Pathology/Plant Virology with 04 years Bachelor's Degree. Or Candidates having Post graduate degree in above subjects with
03 years Bachelor's degree and 02 years Master's degree should have NET qualifications. Experience in molecular biology techniques, and Practical Knowledge of Plant Pathogens.

Young Professionals II: Master's degree in computer science/application andbioinformatics. NGS data analysis, Practical knowledge in computer applications, software's MS office.

Field or Lab Assistants: Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Agriculture. Experience in field and lab. Techniques.

Selection Process for ICAR-IIVR Recruitment 2024

• For selection of the candidate for YP.I, YP.II, RA and SRF (50 marks Academic, 25 marks Written and 25 marks Interview and for Field Asstt./Lab. Asstt. (50 marks Academic and 50 marks Interview) will be based on academic, written, interview for YP.I, YP.II, RA & SRF and academic and interview for Field Asstt./Lab. Asstt.
• Final selection will be based on marks of academic, written and interview of YP.I, YP.II, RA & SRF and academic and interview of Field Asstt./Lab. Asstt. The YP.I, YP.II, RA, SRF & Field Asstt./Lab. Asstt. who have earlier worked in the ICAR schemes may be given preference for engagement subject to their suitability.

Walk-in details for ICAR-IIVR Recruitment 2024

Applications are invited to attend walk in interview / examination etc. for the following contractual posts of RA, SRF, Y.Ps.-I, Y.Ps II, and Field Asstts. / Lab. Asstts. at this Institute for one year whichever is earlier (the services of this contractual post may be extendable) subject to requirement of the services of aforesaid contractual posts in the organization and satisfactory performance of the cadidate after evaluation by the Director of this Institute and termination of the Project.

The walk in interview / examination etc. will be conducted by personal appearance at ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi. The candidate may appear for the walk in interview / examination ete. personally, ICAR - IIVR, Varanasi will not be responsible, if any candidate is not allowed by the authorities to attend the walk in interview / examination. The eligible and desirous candidates fulfilling the requirements may appear before the Selection Committee for examination / interview etc. on 05th June 2024 at 10.00 a.m. onwards at ICAR - IIVR, Varanasi.
