ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024 Notification Out Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow and More Vacancies, Check Eligibility at iari.res.in
The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, is seeking applications for five contractual positions in the externally funded ICAR project titled "Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools." The positions include one Research Associate (RA), two Senior Research Fellows (SRF), and two Young Professionals II (YPII), all within the Centre of Excellence in Genome Editing, Division of Plant Physiology.
The positions are temporary and co-terminus with the project, with the institution reserving the right to modify the number of vacancies. The RA position offers a monthly emolument ranging from ₹49,000 to ₹54,000 depending on qualifications and experience, with essential qualifications being a Ph.D. or Master's degree in relevant life sciences disciplines and desirable experience in molecular techniques, genome editing, and scientific writing.
The SRF positions offer a monthly salary of ₹31,000 for the first two years and ₹35,000 for the third year, with similar qualifications and experience requirements as the RA position. The YPII positions offer a fixed monthly salary of ₹42,000 and require postgraduates or graduates in relevant life sciences or agricultural sciences/engineering.

Qualifications Details for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
Research Associate:
- Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience. OR With Master’s degree holders: Master's degree in Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree having 1 st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced fromFellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements as circulated vide F. No. 2-9/2012-HRD dated 25.04.2014 and one research paper in Science Citation Inclex (SCI)/ NAAS rated (≥4.0) Journal as per OMSR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30.01.2019
- Experienceinbasic molecular techniques (nucleic acidisolation, PCR, plasmid isolation, restriction, ligation, molecular marker etc), molecular cloning andrecombinant vector development, genetic transformationof crops (rice, mustard, millets, maizeetc), development and analysisof transgenicplants, genome editing of plants, plant tissue culture, scientific writing; asevident frompublications.
Senior Research Fellow:
- Master degree in Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor's Degree. Candidates having Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree should have NET/ GATE qualifications and 2 years of research experience as mentioned in OMNo. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015, OM No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014- HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council** and OMSR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30th January, 2019.

Age Limit for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
- Research Associate: Maximum: 40 years for men; 45 years for women
- Senior Research Fellow: Maximum: 35 years for men; 40 years for women
- Young Professional II (YPII): Minimum: 21 years; Maximum: 45 years
Pay Scale for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
- Research Associate: ₹ 49,000+ HRA per month (for Master Degree holders) (with 3-year experience) Or ₹ 54,000 + HRA per month (for PhD degree holders)
- Senior Research Fellow: ₹ 31,000 + HRA per month for 1st and 2nd year & ₹ 35,000 per month + HRA for 3rd year
- Young Professional II (YPII): ₹ 42,000 per month (Fixed)
Selection Process for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
- The candidates shall be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria, educational performanceand/or relevant research experience, if applicable. Only, shortlisted candidates shall be informedabout the screening results via email and shall be invited to attend online/ in person interviewinDelhi.
