ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024 Notification Out Senior Research Fellow and Young Professional II Vacancies, Check Eligibility at iari.res.in
Applications are invited for two contractual positions, including one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and one Young Professional II, under the externally funded ICAR project titled "Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools" (Project Code 12-197-K). The positions are temporary, unreserved, and co-terminus with the project, with the institution reserving the right to adjust the number of vacancies.
The last date for applications is 21 days from publication on the ICAR-IARI Contractual Job Web Portal. The SRF position requires a Master's degree in relevant disciplines with desirable experience, while the Young Professional II position requires a Master's degree or a Professional Graduate degree in related fields, along with relevant experience. Relaxation in age limit is applicable as per government rules.

Qualifications Details for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
Senior Research Fellow:
- Master’s degree in Nematology/ Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/ Plant Pathology/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor's Degree
- Candidates having Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master'sdegree should have NET/ GATE qualifications PLUS 2 years of research experience as mentioned in OM No. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015, OM No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014- HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council** and OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30th January, 2019.
- Experience of working with nematodes, experience in basic molecular techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR, plasmid isolation, restriction, ligation, molecular markers etc), molecular cloning and recombinant vector development, genetic transformation of crops (preferably rice), development and analysis of transgenic plants, genome editing of plants, plant tissue culture, nematode culturing, scientific writing; as evident from publications.
Young Professional II:
- Master’s degree in Nematology/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany/ any relevant discipline of life sciences or Professional Graduate degree holders of 4 years duration in Agricultural Sciences/ biotechnology/ other relevant fields of life sciences.
- Experience of working with nematodes, experience in basic molecular techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR, plasmid isolation, restriction, ligation, molecular marker etc), molecular cloning and recombinant vector development, genetic transformation of crops (preferably rice), development and analysis of transgenic plants, genome editing of plants, plant tissue culture, nematode culturing, scientific writing; as evident from publications.
Age Limit for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
- Senior Research Fellow: Maximum: 35 years For men; 40 years for women (as on date of advertisement)
- Young Professional II: Minimum: 21 years; Maximum: 45 years with relaxation as per rules (as on date of advertiseme nt).
Pay Scale for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
- Senior Research Fellow: Rs.42,000 + HRA per month OM DST/PCPM/ Z-0612022 (E-file- 41804), dated 26th June 2023
- Young Professional II: Rs. 42,000 per month (Fixed) OM: Agril.Edn.01 (12)/2023- A&P (e-25 1411), Dated the 7th December 2023
Selection Process for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
- The candidates shall be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria, educational performance and/or relevant research experience, if applicable. Only, shortlisted candidates shall be informed about the screening results via email and shall be invited to attend online/ in person interview in Delhi. The candidates are advised to regularly check their email for updates. No TA/DA shall be paid to attend the interview. The final result of the interview shall be published in IARI website.
- The original documents of the selected/ wait listed candidates shall be checked in person, before the issue of the offer letter
