ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024 Notification Out Research Associate, and Senior Research Fellow Vacancies, Check Eligibility at iari.res.in
The Division of Plant Pathology at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, is seeking to fill two contractual positions funded by an ICAR project aimed at enhancing climate resilience and food security through genome editing tools. The positions available are for one Research Associate (RA) and one Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
The RA position requires either a doctoral degree or a master's degree with relevant experience in life sciences, with a preference for those proficient in molecular biology techniques and genome editing. The SRF position necessitates a master's degree in life sciences with desirable experience, and candidates with post-graduate degrees in basic sciences must have NET/GATE qualifications and research experience as specified.

Qualifications Details for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
Research Associate (RA):
- With Doctoral degree: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology/Plant Pathology/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience
- With Master’s degree holders: Master's degree in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology/Plant Pathology/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree having 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements as circulated vide F. No. 2-9/2012-HRD dated 25.04.2014 and one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI)/ NAAS rated (≥4.0) Journal as per OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30.01.2019
- Experience in basic molecular techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR, plasmid isolation, restriction, ligation, molecular marker etc), molecular cloning and recombinant vector development, genetic transformation of crops (rice), development and analysis of transgenic plants, genome editing of plants, plant tissue culture, scientific writing; as evident from publications.
Senior Research Fellow (SRF):
- Master's degree in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology/Plant Pathology/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree
- Candidates having Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree should have NET/GATE qualifications and 2 years of research experience as mentioned in OM No. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015, OM No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council** and OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30th January, 2019

- Any national level examination conducted by the Central Govt. Departments/agencies for admission to Ph.D. programme are considered as NET for the purpose of RA/SRF, eg BET/ DAE-JEST & J GEEBILS, NBHM/ ICMR/ICAR/ DoP-GPAT etc.
Age Limit for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
Maximum: 40 years for men; 45 years for women; SRF: 35 years for men and 40 years for women. Relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PWD (10 years) and other eligible categories shall be applicable as per GoI/ ICAR norms
Pay Scale for ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2024
- Research Associate (RA): ₹ 49,000 + HRA per month (for Master Degree holders) (with 3-year experience) Or ₹ 54,000 + HRA per month (for PhD degree holders)
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): ₹ 31,000 + HRA per month
