The Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Fellow (01 No.) on a contractual basis for the duration of the FSSAI-funded project titled "Micro and nano-plastics as emerging food contaminants: establishing validated methodologies and understanding the prevalence in different food matrices" (FSSAI-Micro Plastics Project).
The position offers a consolidated monthly emolument of Rs. 29,000 and requires candidates to hold a First-class Master’s degree in Chemistry, Hydrochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science and Technology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Proficiency in English communication, previous experience in microplastics analysis, and familiarity with analytical instruments such as GCMS and LC-MS are desirable. Candidates must be between 21 and 45 years of age and should submit a detailed bio-data, along with attested copies of relevant certificates, at the time of registration.

Qualifications Details for ICAR-CIFT Recruitment 2024
First class Master’s degree in Chemistry/Hydrochemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Food Science and Technology/Biochemistry or any other subject relevant to the project area.
Excellent English writing and speaking skill. Previous experience in microplastics analysis. Experience with analytical instruments such as GCMS, LC-MS.
Age Limit for ICAR-CIFT Recruitment 2024
This position is for the FSSAI funded project titled "Micro and nano-plastics as emerging food contaminants: establishing validated methodologies and understanding the prevalence in different food matrices" (FSSAI-Micro Plastics Project). Candidates must be between 21 and 45 years of age at the time of the interview, with age relaxation applicable as per regulations.
Pay Scale for ICAR-CIFT Recruitment 2024
ICAR-CIFT is seeking eligible candidates for the position of Project Fellow, with one vacancy available. The salary offered for this temporary position is Rs. 29,000/- per month. Interested candidates are invited to attend a walk-in interview with all relevant documents.
Terms and Conditions for ICAR-CIFT Recruitment 2024
- Registration will begin at 9.00 a.m. and will close at 10.00 a.m.
- Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates is permissible.
- Candidate should possess 1st class or 60% marks or equivalent overall GPA 4. Candidates are required to submit detailed bio-data (in the enclosed format) affixing a recent passport size photograph alongwith attested copies of all the Certificates in support of their claims regarding age, educational qualifications, experience, Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/OBC etc. The original certificates shall be produced for verification before the interview.
- The candidate should at least hold a Provisional Certificate in r/o. Graduation/ Professional Courses. (website results/ result awaiting candidates will not be considered)
- The selected candidate will be recruited on contract basis under ICAR norms. The post is purely temporary.
- The candidate attending the interview should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates for selection/test/appointment.
- Candidates already employed should submit “No Objection Certificate” from the present employer while attending the interview.
- No TA/DA will pay to attend the interview.
- Canvassing in any form will render the candidate disqualified for the post.
- The decision of Director, CIFT will be final and binding in all aspects regarding the selection to the post.

ICAR-CIFT is conducting a walk-in-interview for the temporary position of Project Fellow (01 No.) on a contractual basis for the FSSAI funded project titled "Micro and nano-plastics as emerging food contaminants: establishing validated methodologies and understanding the prevalence in different food matrices" (FSSAI-Micro Plastics Project).
The position is initially for one year and may be extended up to 2 years based on performance or project closure, whichever occurs earlier. The interview is scheduled for 23/04/2024 at CIFT, Cochin, starting at 10 A.M. Eligible candidates are required to bring all relevant documents.
