Qualifications For IARI Recruitment 2024
Research Associate
- With Doctoral degree: Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience.
- Master’s degree holders: Master's degree in Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/Plant Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany/ any relevant discipline of life science with desirable experience with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivale overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements as circulated vide F. No. 2-9/2012-HRD dated 25.04.2014 and one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI)/ NAAS rated (≥4.0) Journal as per OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30.01.2019 *Relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwD (10 years) and other eligible
- categories shall be applicable as per GoI/ ICAR rules. **As per OM No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council, exemption from NET is available to the following candidates:
- Ph.D. degree holders
- Professional Master's degree holders (3 years)
- Master's degree holders with integrated degrees like B.Tech. & M.Tech. (5 years)
Senior Research Fellow
- Master degree in Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor's Degree.
- Candidates having Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree should have NET/ GATE qualifications and 2 years of research experience as mentioned in OM No. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015, OM No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014- HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council** and OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30th January, 2019.
Young Professional II
- Postgraduates in Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany/ any relevant discipline of life sciences or graduate degree holders in relevant Agricultural Sciences/ Engineering/ Technology
Age Limit For IARI Recruitment 2024
- Research Associate : Maximum: 40 years for men; 45 years for women
- Senior Research Fellow : Maximum: 35 y e a r s for men; 40 years for women
- Young Professional II : Minimum: 21 years; Maximum: 45 years
Salary Details For IARI Recruitment 2024
- Research Associate : ₹ 49,000+ HRA per Month (forMaster Degree holders with 3-year experience) Or ₹ 54,000 + HRA per month (for PhD degree holders)
- Senior Research Fellow : ₹ 31,000 + HRA per month for 1 st and 2nd year & ₹ 35,000 per month + HRA for 3rd year
- Young Professional II: ₹ 42,000 per month (Fixed)
Terms & Conditions For IARI Recruitment 2024
- The engagement will be purely on contractual basis, time bound, non-regular & co-terminus with the project and the incumbent shall not have any claim for regular appointment under ICAR or any further contractual engagement on termination of the project.
- The selected candidate shall have no legal right to claim regularization by absorption or otherwise or any further continued engagement on termination of the project.
- The tenure of engagement will be initially for a period upto 12 months from the date of engagement or term of the project, whichever is earlier. The services of the incumbent shall stand terminated automatically on expiry of the period given in the offer letter.

Subject to extension of term of project, the engagement may be further extended as decided by the competent authority subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate and work requirement. During the period of engagement, If the performance is non-satisfactory, the incumbent could be terminated from the position with one- month notice.
Selection Process For IARI Recruitment 2024
- The candidates shall be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria, educational performance and/or relevant research experience, if applicable.
- Only, shortlisted candidates shall be informed about the screening results via email and shall be invited to attend online/ in person interview in Delhi.
- The candidates are advised to regularly check their email for updates. No TA/DA shall be paid to attend the interview.
- The final result of the interview shall be published in IARI website (https://iari.res.in) under the heading News> Contractual Jobs> View Results.
- The original documents of the selected/ wait listed candidates shall be checked in person, before the issue of the offer letter.
- Candidates already engaged in employment in government/ PSU/ autonomous bodies etc, are required to furnish No Objection Certificate from the existing employer. Candidates currently pursuing PhD degree are required to furnish No Objection Certificate from the HoD/Dean/Registrar of the university.
