IARI Recruitment 2024 Notification Out Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow, Young Professional II and Young Professional II IT Vacancies ,Check Eligibility at iari.res.in
Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) has announced recruitment for various contractual positions including Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow, and Young Professionals (both general and IT-focused). A total of 15 vacancies have been released under an externally funded ICAR project aimed at enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools. Candidates with qualifications in Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Botany, Life Sciences, Microbiology, or Computer Sciences are invited to apply.
For Research Associates, candidates with a Ph.D. or relevant Master’s degree and experience are eligible, with salaries ranging from ₹49,000 to ₹54,000 plus HRA per month. Senior Research Fellows require a Master’s degree in a relevant subject and offer a salary progression from ₹31,000 to ₹35,000 plus HRA. Young Professional II positions offer a fixed monthly salary of ₹42,000. Age limits vary by position, with specific relaxations for different categories.

IARI Recruitment 2024 Qualifications
Research Associate :
- With Doctoral degree: Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany/ any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience.
- Master’s degree holders: Master's degree in Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/Plant Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany/ any relevant discipline of life science with desirable experience with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivale overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced from
- Ph.D. degree holders
- Professional Master's degree holders (3 years)
- Master's degree holders with integrated degrees like B.Tech. & M.Tech. (5 years)
- Any national level examination conducted by the Central Govt. Departments/agencies for admission to Ph.D. programme are considered as NET for the purpose of RA/SRF, eg BET/ DAE-JEST & J GEEBILS, NBHM/ ICMR/ICAR/ DoP-GPAT etc
Senior Research Fellow :
- Master’s degree in relevant subjects (Plant Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/Life sciences/ Microbiology) with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s degree. having 1st division or 60% marks or equivale overall grade point average.
- Candidates having graduate degree in basic Sciences with 3 years of Bachelor’s degree and 2 years masters degree should have NET/GATE qualification and 2 years of research experience as mentioned in OM No Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015, OM No Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014- HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council and OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated, 30th January 2019 for eligibility
Young Professional II :
- Master’s degree in relevant subjects (Plant Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/Life sciences/ Microbiology or graduate degree holders in relevant Agricultural Sciences/ Engineering/ Technology
Young Professional II IT :
- Graduates with at least 60% marks in Computer Application/ Information Technology/Computer Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Operating Systems/ Software Engineering/ Computer Graphics with one-year experience in the relevant field.
- Masters in Computer Application / Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Operating Systems/ Software Engineering/ Computer Graphics.
IARI Recruitment 2024 Age limit
- Research Associate : Maximum: 40 years for men; 45 years for women
- Senior Research Fellow : Maximum: 35 years for men; 40 years for women
- Young Professional II : Minimum: 21 years; Maximum: 45 years
- Young Professional II IT : Minimum: 21 years; Maximum: 45 years
IARI Recruitment 2024 Salary
Research Associate :
- ₹ 49,000+ HRA per Month (forMaster Degree holders with 3-year experience) Or ₹ 54,000 + HRA per month (for PhD degree holders)
Senior Research Fellow :
- ₹ 31,000 + HRA per month for 1st and 2nd year & ₹ 35,000 per month + HRA for 3 rd year
Young Professional II :
- ₹ 42,000 per month (Fixed)
Young Professional II IT :
- ₹ 42,000 per month (Fixed)
Terms & Conditions For IARI Recruitment 2024
- The engagement will be purely on contractual basis, time bound, non-regular & co-terminus with the project and the incumbent shall not have any claim for regular appointment under ICAR or any further contractual engagement on termination of the project. The selected candidate shall have no legal right to claim regularization by absorption or otherwise or any further continued engagement on termination of the project.
- The tenure of engagement will be initially for a period upto 6months from the date of engagement or term of the project, whichever is earlier. The services of the incumbent shall stand terminated automatically on expiry of the period given in the offer letter. Subject to extension of term of project, the engagement may be further extended as decided by the competent authority subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate and work requirement. During the period of engagement, If the performance is non-satisfactory, the incumbent could be terminated from the position with one- month notice.
- The candidates shall be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria, educational performance and/or relevant research experience, if applicable. Only, shortlisted candidates shall be informed about the screening results via email and shall be invited to attend online/ in person interview in Delhi. The candidates are advised to regularly check their email for updates.
- The original documents of the selected/ wait listed candidates shall be checked in person, before the issue of the offer letter.
- Candidates already engaged in employment in government/ PSU/ autonmous bodies etc, are required to furnish No Objection Certificate from the existing employer.
- Candidates currently pursuing PhD degree are required to furnish No Objection Certificate from the HoD/Dean/Registrar of the university.
- Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification of the candidatureand/or termination of engagement even after appointment.
- The decision of Joint Director (Research), ICAR-IARI, New Delhi will be final and binding in all respects.
