Qualifications Details for IAF Recruitment 2024
- Lower Division - Clerk (LDC)/ Hindi Typist : 12th Class pass from a recognized Board. skill test norms on computer English typing @ 35 words per minute, or Hindi typing @ 30 words per minute (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 Key Depressions per hour or 9000 Key Depressions per hour on an average of 5 Key Depressions for each word).
- Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade) : Matriculation or equivalent qualification from a recognized board or university. Must be holding a valid Civil Driving Licence for light and heavy vehicle. Must possess professional skill in driving and knowledge of motor mechanism. Minimum two years experience in driving. motor vehicles.
Age Limit for IAF Recruitment 2024
- The Indian Air Force has set the age limit for the posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Hindi Typist, and Driver between 18 to 25 years, with the crucial date for determining the age being the last date of receipt of applications. However, age relaxation is provided to candidates from various categories. OBC candidates receive a relaxation of 3 years, SC/ST candidates get a relaxation of 5 years, and physically handicapped individuals are granted a 10-year relaxation.
- Additionally, physically handicapped candidates belonging to SC/ST categories receive an extra 5 years, and those belonging to the OBC category get an additional 3 years. Ex-servicemen who have served for at least six months continuously in the Armed Forces can deduct their service period from their age, and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit by more than three years, they are considered within the age limits.
- For departmental employees, the age limit is extended to 40 years for unreserved candidates, 43 years for OBC candidates, and 45 years for SC/ST candidates. It is important to note that SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against unreserved posts are not entitled to any age relaxation or relaxation in experience requirements. All age relaxations are in accordance with the prevailing government instructions and policies, ensuring that eligible candidates from various backgrounds have fair opportunities to apply for these positions.
Selection Process for IAF Recruitment 2024
- All application will be scrutinised in terms of age limits, minimum qualification, documents and certificates. Thereafter, eligible candidates will be issued call letters for written test.
- The eligible candidates will be required to appear for written test. The written test will be based on minimum education qualification.
- For the LDC/Hindi Typist positions, the selection process includes a written test covering four key areas: General Intelligence, English Language, Numerical Aptitude, and General Awareness. For the CMTD roles, the written test will include the same four subjects as the LDC/Hindi Typist test, with an additional section on Trade/Post-related questions. The test papers will be available in both English and Hindi. Candidates who qualify the written test will be shortlisted for a skill, physical, or practical test if applicable, with the written test being the sole determinant of the final merit.
