The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Neuro Radiology within the Medical Education and Research Department. There is one vacancy available under the Unreserved category. The selected candidate will receive a salary in the pay scale of Rs. 37400-67000/- with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8900/-.
Applicants must possess a recognized medical qualification listed in the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, and a postgraduate degree in the concerned specialty, along with at least 3 years of teaching experience after post-graduation. Knowledge of the customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh is required, along with the publication of research papers in indexed journals.

Qualifications Details for HPPSC Recruitment 2024
- A recognized medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part-II of the third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, now National Medical Commission Act 2019. Holders of Educational Qualification included in Part-II of the third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in subsection (3) of Section-13 of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, now National Medical Commission Act, 2019
- A postgraduate degrees in the concerned speciality as mentioned in Part-A of Annexure-II or its equivalent qualifications.
- At least 3 years teaching experience as Lecturer / Registrar/Demonstrators / Resident after doing post-graduation in the concerned speciality in any recognized Medical College.
- Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh. (ii) Publication of research papers in Index Journals.
- D.M. in Neuro Radiology (2 years or 3 years, or 5 years recognized course after MBBS) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Age Limit for HPPSC Recruitment 2024
Provided that the upper age limit is relaxable by five years for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes / Persons with disabilities and Children/Grand Children ofFreedom Fighters of Himachal Pradesh as declared by the Govt. from timeto time. The age relaxation for these categories shall be admissible only if there is a post reserved for these categories.

- Candidates of Other States (including reserved category(s) candidates of other states): Rs. 600.00
- Male candidates of SC, ST, OBC, and EWS covered under UR – BPL categories of Himachal Pradesh and Ex-Servicemen candidates of Himachal Pradesh belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories who are relieved from the Defence Services on their own request before completion of their normal tenure of service under the Government of India: Rs. 150.00
- The Ex-Servicemen of Himachal Pradesh who are relieved from the Defence Services after completion of their normal tenure of service under the Government of India and the Blind and Visually Impaired male candidates of Himachal Pradesh: No fee
Selection Process for HPPSC Recruitment 2024
Selection for posts/services without prescribed selection procedures in respective Recruitment and Promotion Rules follows a specific process. For posts where the number of eligible candidates to advertised posts is below thirteen, all eligible candidates will directly proceed to the Personality Test stage. This selection procedure consists of two stages: Screening/Preliminary Exam and Personality Test.
