The G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development (GBPIHED) has announced vacancies for the position of Junior Project Fellow. The position requires candidates with a Master's degree in disciplines such as Hydrology, Geology, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing & GIS, or Environment Management, with a first class/division. Additionally, candidates with an M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering are also eligible.
Experience with QGIS/ArcGIS, satellite image classification, GPS/DGPS survey, and working in mountainous terrains is preferred. The salary offered is Rs. 20,000/- plus HRA. The age limit is 28 years, and candidates must be willing to join immediately. The recruitment involves a walk-in interview scheduled for April 26, 2024, at NIHE, Himachal Pradesh Regional Centre, starting from 10:30 AM onwards. GBPIHED Recruitment 2024 Qualification
- First Class/Division in Master of Science in Hydrology/ Geology/ Environmental Science/Remote Sensing & GIS/Environment Management
- M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering/Civil Engineering
- Experience to work with QGIS/Arc GIS; Knowledge of Satellite image classification, knowledge of GPS/DGPS survey; Experience to work in difficult mountain terrains; Good writing and communication skills.

- The selected candidate(s) are expected to join immediately.
- The selected candidate is liable to be posted anywhere in India.
- No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the Interview.
- Institute reserve the right to disengage the manpower at any time without assigning any reasons thereof.

- In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the Institute in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, and the conduct of examination/ interview will be final and no query or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or his/her agency.

Walk-In Interview Details For GBPIHED Recruitment 2024
- Aspiring candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria may walk-in on 26.04.2024 on (10:30 AM onwards) at NIHE, Himachal Pradesh Regional Centre.
- Minimum requirements of qualifications and/or experience can be relaxed in respect of exceptionally outstanding candidates.
- The Institute reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of positions, to fill up or not to fill up any or all the posts or to shortlist and select the candidates in any suitable position depending upon the qualification and experience required for the said post.
- Candidates must bring original documents pertaining to their educational qualifications & experience along with one set of photocopies.
- The experience will not be considered without an experience certificate.
