The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is conducting recruitment for the position of Senior Resident, with five vacancies available in Varanasi. Candidates must be under 45 years of age on the date of the interview, which is scheduled for October 10, 2024. Eligible applicants should hold a PG Degree or PG Diploma in the relevant specialty from a recognized university, registered with the Medical Council. In the absence of PG-qualified doctors, MBBS graduates with at least two years of experience in the specialty may also apply. Candidates who have previously served three years as Senior Residents in any government organization are ineligible.
The pay structure for Senior Residents includes a basic salary of ₹67,700 for those on a three-year contract, approximately amounting to ₹1,20,000 per month. For those on a one-year contract, the consolidated remuneration is ₹1,21,048 per month, with reductions for PG Diploma holders and non-PG doctors. Candidates from SC/ST/OBC categories must present valid caste certificates, and EWS candidates should provide their EWS certificate. Applications must be submitted separately for each post, and no private practice is permitted for full-time roles. Qualification for ESIC Recruitment 2024
- PG Degree or PG Diploma holders in concerned speciality from recognized university and registered with Medical Council. Candidates who have already completed three years tenure as Senior Resident in any govt. organisation are not eligible.
- PG Degree or PG Diploma holders in concerned speciality from recognized university and registered with Medical Council. In the absence of PG qualified doctors, MBBS graduates who possess at least 2 years working experience in the concerned speciality will be selected. *The Senior Residents taken in the broad speciality of Medicine would be also be allocated to Super Speciality branches Cardiology/Nephrology/Oncology * The Senior Residents taken in the broad speciality of Surgery would be also be allocated to Super Speciality branch of Urology.
Duties and Pay structure for ESIC Recruitment 2024
- Senior Resident (3 Year Contract Under Esic Residency Scheme): To work as per norms of Residency. Basic Pay Rs.67700 in Level 11+other allowances as admissible as per 7th CPC and ESIC HQ instructions. (Approx: Rs1,20,000 per month)
- Senior Resident (1 Year Contract Against Vacant Posts Of Gdmo Cadre): To work as per norms of Residency. Consolidated remuneration of Rs1,21,048 per month. It would be reduced by Rs1350 per month for PG Diploma holders and by Rs2250 per month for Non-PG doctors.
General Instructions for ESIC Recruitment 2024
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category should produce a valid caste certificate issued by the Tehsildar or Revenue Divisional Officer. OBC certificate must be recent and as prescribed vide DoPT, Govt. of India OM No. 36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 15.11.1993 which should certify that the candidate does not belong to anyone of the Creamy Layers.
- Candidates claiming reservation under EWS category should produce their EWS certificate as prescribed vide DoPT, Govt. of India OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt.(Res) dated 31.01.2019.
- Horizontal reservation will be applicable for PWD(as per earmarked categories of disability) and Exservicemen candidates in accordance with Govt. policies. Appropriate certificate must be produced at the time of interview for claiming such reservation.
- Application must be submitted for each post separately.
- Private practice of any kind will not be allowed for full time posts.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for ‘Walk in interview’.
- Vacancies indicated above may change as per actual requirement on the date of interview.
- Canvassing in any form shall be disqualification.

- Interested Candidates are advised to submit their interest to appear for interview by email/phone three days in advance from the date of interview and to attend WALK-IN-INTERVIEW on the date mentioned below, at ESIC Hospital, Pandeypur, Varanasi with application in the prescribed proforma, all original documents, one set of photo copy of all original documents and one recent passport size photograph (affixed on the application).
