The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) is recruiting 64 Junior Engineers in Kolkata, with a salary range of Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400. The application deadline is July 4, 2024. Applicants must have a full-time Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from an AICTE-approved institute with a minimum of 65% marks (60% for SC/ST/PwBD). Candidates can also qualify with a Matriculation certificate and a DGMS-issued Surveyor’s certificate or a Diploma in Mining/Mining Surveying with similar marks requirements.
The age limit for Junior Engineers is 18-28 years, and for Mine Surveyors, it is 18-30 years, with age relaxations as per government guidelines. Selected candidates will start at Pay Matrix Level 6 during a one-year probation period and enjoy various allowances and benefits.

Qualifications Details for DVC Recruitment 2024
- 3 (three) years full time Diploma in Engineering/ Technology in Mechanical Engineering from any recognized College/ Institute approved by AICTE/appropriate statutory authority with not less than 65% marks (General/ OBC(NCL)/EWS) / 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBD) taking average of all the semesters, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester / year by the Institute / University .

Age Limit for KMRC Recruitment 2024
- Junior Engineers GR-II-- Minimum age of the applicant should not be less than 18 years & maximum not more than 28 years of age for Junior Engineers as on closing date of online application Mine Surveyor-- Minimum age of the applicant should not be less than 18 years & Maximum not more than 30 years of age for Mine Surveyors as on closing date of online application.
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD/Ex-SM candidates will be as per GOI guidelines. No upper age limit for DVC Departmental candidates.
Pay Scale for DVC Recruitment 2024
- The Selected candidates will be placed in the Pay Scale of Rs 35,400-1,12,400/- in Pay Matrix Level 6 (as per 7th Pay Revision) during the one-year probation period. On successful completion of the probation period, the candidates will be absorbed on the same aforementioned scale and pay matrix.
- The compensation package includes Basic Pay, Central Dearness Allowance (CDA), Medical Reimbursement, Leave Travel Allowance, NPS, Conveyance Allowance, Leave Encashment and HRA etc. admissible as per Corporation Rules in force from time to time.
Application Fee for DVC Recruitment 2024
- Candidates belonging to General/OBC(NCL)/EWS categories are required to pay a Non-refundable Application Fee of Rs 300/-(Rupees Three Hundred Only).
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWBD/Ex-SM categories & DVC Departmental Candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.
- Candidates must ensure that payment of Rs 300/- is made at one go and amount less than Rs. 300/- will not be accepted as application fee.
Selection Process for DVC Recruitment 2024
Written Test shall be of Objective Type (each question shall have four answer options) of two hours’ duration consisting of two parts
- Part-I consists of General Aptitude Test (GAT) on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency and interpretation, numerical ability etc.
- Part-II consists of Technical Knowledge Test (TKT) having specific questions from respective discipline
