DRDO Recruitment 2024 Notification Out Junior Research Fellowship Vacancies, Check Eligibility at drdo.gov.in
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has released a notification for the recruitment of a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) position. The recruitment is open for one post, offering a monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000, with total emoluments reaching up to Rs. 48,100 per month, including House Rent Allowance (HRA).
The selected candidate will be based in Bengaluru. Eligible candidates should have a graduate degree in a professional course (B.E/B.Tech) with first division and NET/GATE qualification or a post-graduate degree in a professional course (M.E/M.Tech) with first division at both the graduate and post-graduate levels.
A post-graduate degree in Basic Science with NET qualification is also acceptable. Strong problem-solving skills, expertise in at least one major programming language, and knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques are highly desirable.
Candidates interested in applying must ensure they meet the age limit of 28 years as of the interview date, with age relaxation available for SC/ST and OBC candidates. The selection process will involve shortlisting based on GATE scores or academic performance, followed by an online coding examination and a personal interview, which may be conducted in person or via video conferencing.

Qualifications Details for DRDO Recruitment 2024
- Graduate degree in professional course (B.E/B.TECH) in first division with NET/GATE. Post Graduate degree in professional course (M.E/M.TECH) in first division both at Graduate and Post Graduate level. Post graduate degree in Basic Science in first division with NET Qualification.
- Strong fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design and complexity analysis. Expert in at least one major programming language (Python, Java, C++ or similar). Knowledge of classical Al algorithms, Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques is strongly desirable. Proven experience with software libraries such PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, TensorRT, PyTorchMobile.
Age Limit for DRDO Recruitment 2024
- 28 years as on the date of interview. Age and Educational qualification will be calculated / determined as on last date for submission of Application.
- Age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC candidates.
Pay Scale for DRDO Recruitment 2024
- Stipend of Rs.37,000/- per month plus HRA as applicable (at present 30%). Hence, total emoluments will be Rs. 48,100/- .
- Based on the availability, accommodation can be provided, in which case, HRA will be deducted.
Selection Process for DRDO Recruitment 2024
- Eligible candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of GATE score/percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree. Shortlisted candidates are required to appear for online coding examination(tentatively on 19% January), details of the examination will be communicated subsequently on their mail ids.
- The qualified candidates will be required to appear for personal interview to be held at DRDO Young Scientist Laboratory- Artificial Intelligence (DYSL-Al) Dr. Raja Ramanna Complex, Raj Bhavan Circle, High Grounds, Bengaluru-560001 or through Video Conferencing as decided by Director, DYSL-Al, date and time will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates separately by speed post/email.
- The decision of the Director as to whether in person interview of through Video conferencing will be final and binding on the candidates. The decision of the committee constituted by Director, DYSL-Al in selecting the candidate will be final and binding on all the candidates.
