The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Maharashtra LSA, is seeking to engage a consultant at the Assistant Director level for its Nagpur unit on a temporary and contract basis.
Retired government servants or officials from PSUs, including BSNL/MTNL under VRS-2019, aged below 62 years, with computer proficiency and preferably knowledge of DoT field unit works/Telecom works, are eligible to apply. The engagement will initially be for six months, extendable based on performance up to 62 years of age or until regular manpower is available.
Responsibilities include various tasks such as service compliance, rural connectivity, administration & HR, etc.,. The remuneration and allowances will be as per government norms, and interested candidates can apply by the deadline of 29.04.2024.

Qualification for DOT Recruitment 2024
- Retired from Central/State Govt./Central or State PSUs/Research organisation with minimum substantive grade of level 8 of the 7th CPC in CDA Scale or equivalent IDA Scale or holding analogous post or above.
- The applicant must be proficient in working with Computers and must have hands-on experience in working with MS Office/Internet etc.
- Preference will be given to applicants from DoT/BSNL/MTNL background.
Salary for DOT Recruitment 2024
- The remuneration and allowances payable will be as per Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance OM No. 03-25/2020-E-IIIA dated 09.12.2020 endorsed by DoT letter No. 1-3(01)/2021-PAT dated 08-02-2021 and that of the retired PSU employees will be in accordance with DoT HQ Letter No. 3-10/2014-SEA-1/Fin.
- Dated 29-03-2022 and subsequent amendments/orders issued by DoT HQ in this regard from time to time.
- Taxes as per prevailing rules shall be deducted before affecting any payment.
- The amount of remuneration so fixed shall remain unchanged for the terms of the contract.
- There will be no annual increment/ percentage increase during the contract period.
- No increment and Dearness Allowance shall be allowed during the term of the contract.
- No HRA or any other allowance such as LTC, CEA, medical, newspaper, call charges, mobile/briefcase reimbursement etc. shall be admissible.
- An appropriate and fixed amount as Transport Allowance for the purpose of commuting between the residence and the place of work shall be allowed not exceeding the rate applicable to the appointee at the time of retirement.
- The amount so fixed shall remain unchanged during the term of appointment.
Selection Procedure for DOT Recruitment 2024
- A Selection panel shall be constituted for this purpose.
- The panel may hold a personal interaction/Interview with the candidates shortlisted based on scrutiny of applications / supporting documents.
- The decision of the department in the matter of selection of consultant shall be final and binding.
