The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) is inviting applications for the positions of Assistant Director and Junior Telecom Officer. There are three vacancies available, and the job is based in Lucknow. Applicants must be retired from Central/State Government, PSUs, or research organizations, with a minimum grade of level 7 or 8 of the 7th CPC or its equivalent. Proficiency in computer operations is required. The age limit for applicants is 64 years as of the application deadline.
The remuneration for these positions is fixed and does not include annual increments, Dearness Allowance, or other allowances such as HRA, medical expenses, or mobile reimbursements. The pay will remain unchanged throughout the contract period. However, a fixed transport allowance will be provided. Paid leave is granted at a rate of 1.5 days per completed month, but accumulation beyond a calendar year or encashment of unutilized leave is not allowed.
The selection process includes a panel review and potential personal interviews with shortlisted candidates. The final decision on the selection will be made by the department and will be binding. Qualifications Details for DOT Recruitment 2024
- Assistant Director - Retired from Central/State Govt./Central or State PSUs/Research organization with minimum substantive grade of level 8 of the 7th CPC in CDA Scale or equivalent IDA Scale or holding analogous post or above. Knowledge of working on Computer is a must.
- Junior Telecom Officer - Retired from Central/State Govt./Central or State PSUs/Research organization with minimum substantive grade of level 7 of the 7th CPC in CDA Scale or equivalent IDA Scale or holding analogous post or above. Knowledge of working on Computer is a must.
Age Limit for DOT Recruitment 2024
- Candidate should not be more than 64 years of age on the last date of application.
Pay Scale for DOT Recruitment 2024
- The amount of remuneration so fixed shall remain unchanged for the terms of the contract. There will be no annual increment/ percentage increase during the contract period.
- No increment and Dearness Allowance shall be allowed during the term of the contract.
- No HRA or any other allowance such as LTC, CEA, medical, newspaper, call charges, mobile/briefcase reimbursement etc. shall be admissible.
- An appropriate and fixed amount as Transport Allowance for the purpose of commuting between the residence and the place of work shall be allowed not exceeding the rate applicable to the appointee at the time of retirement.
- The amount so fixed shall remain unchanged during the term of appointment. However retired employees engaged as consultants may be allowed TA/DA on official tour if any as per entitlement at the time of retirement.
- Paid leave of the absence may be allowed at the rate 1.5 days for each completed month of service. Accumulation of leave beyond a calendar year may not be allowed.
- No remuneration for the period of absence in excess of the admissible leave will be paid to consultants. Also, un-availed leave shall neither be carried forward to the next year nor encashed.
Selection Process for DOT Recruitment 2024
- A Selection panel shall be constituted for this purpose and it will be valid for a period of 6 months.
- The panel may hold a personal interaction/Interview with the candidates shortlisted by the panel.
- The decision of the department in the matter of selection of consultant shall be final and binding.
