Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has released the notification for the recruitment of Project Officers for the year 2024. There are eight vacancies available for the position, with job locations in Mumbai. Candidates must be under 30 years of age as of September 27, 2024, with age relaxations applicable for OBC, SC/ST, PwBD, and ex-servicemen.
The position requires a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. The salary ranges from ₹37,000 to ₹40,000 per month, depending on the year of service, with additional compensation for extra hours.

Qualifications Details for CSL Recruitment 2024
- Project Officer (Mechanical) on contract basis: Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 60% marks from a recognized University. Essential: Minimum of two years post qualification experience in a Ship Building Company or Ship Repair Company or Marine related Company or Port or Engineering Company or Government Company or Establishment or Semi-Government Company or Establishment. Desirable: Proficiency and experience of working in a computerized environment.
- Project Officer (Electrical) on contract basis: Degree in Electrical Engineering with 60% marks from a recognized University. Minimum of two years post qualification experience in a Ship Building Company or Ship Repair Company or Marine related Company or Port or Engineering Company or Government Company or Establishment or Semi Government Company or Establishment. Age Limit for CSL Recruitment 2024
- The upper age limit prescribed for the posts shall not exceed 30 years as on 27th September 2024 i.e. applicants should be born on or after 28th September 1994.
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates in posts reserved for them.
- Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen shall be as per Government of India guidelines. However, in no case, age limit after applying all age relaxations shall exceed 45 years.

Application Fee for CSL Recruitment 2024
- Application fee of ₹ 400/- (Non-refundable, plus bank charges extra) should be remitted using the Online payment options (Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking/wallets/UPI etc) which can be accessed through our Online application facility from 28th August 2024 to 27th September 2024. No other mode of payment shall be accepted.
- Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) need not pay application fee. They are exempted from payment of application fee.
- All applicants for whom the fee is applicable, i.e. except those belonging to SC/ST/PwBD, should pay the application fee as stipulated in the above clause. It is important to note that their candidature shall be considered only on receipt of application fee.
Selection Process for CSL Recruitment 2024
- The method of selection shall be through Objective Type Test and Personal Interview. The marks shall be assigned to the following parameters for the final selection: Objective Type Test - 50 marks Personal Interview – 20 marks Power Point Presentation for assessing Work Experience - 30 marks Total – 100 marks Depending upon the number of online applications, the objective type test shall be held at Mumbai or at any place in Maharashtra as decided by CMSRU. The allocation of examination centre shall be at the sole discretion of CMSRU.
- The Objective Type Test shall be of 60 Minutes duration comprising of 50 Multiple Choice Questions in the areas of General knowledge (10 marks) and Subject Based (40 marks). Each question carries one mark and there will be no negative marks.
- Mark lists for each posts shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by candidates in the Objective type test. The minimum pass marks for Objective type test shall be as below: - For unreserved posts – 50 % of Total Marks of objective type test, For OBC candidates – 45 % of Total Marks of objective type test only for vacancies reserved for OBC, For SC/ST candidates – 40 % of Total Marks of objective type test only for vacancies reserved for SC/ST, For PwBD Candidates - 40% of Total Marks of objective type test.
How to Apply for CSL Recruitment 2024
- Applicants should go through the User Manual and FAQ published in the link www.cochinshipyard.in (Career page→ CMSRU, Mumbai) before filling the online application. The application consists of two phases –Registration and submission of application against the post applicable. Applicants should not submit more than one application. Application once submitted shall be final.
- Applicants meeting the notified requirements may go through the instructions on the online application page, complete the Regisration and submit their application online through the online application facility from 28th August 2024 and the facility can be accessed through our website www.cochinshipyard.in (Career page→ CMSRU, Mumbai). Application submitted direct or by any other mode shall not be accepted.
- Applicants should ensure that all the entries in the online application have been correctly filled in and application submitted successfully. Change in the data provided in the application after final submission of the same through online will not be considered. Filling of garbage/ junk details in any of the fields can lead to rejection of application.
- Applicants are required to ensure that all certificates towards proof of age, qualification, caste, disability, experience etc., a recent passport size colour photograph, and signature are ready for uploading before commencement of the online application process. Copies of certificates / mark sheets in proof of all relevant educational qualifications, certificates in proof of age, caste, disability, experience etc. should be uploaded, as per guidelines provided in the online application portal, failing which their candidature will not be considered.
- Application must be complete in all respects as per this Advertisement Notification. Please note that incomplete applications shall not be considered.
