Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) is inviting applications for the position of Project Officer with a total of three vacancies at their Kolkata location. Candidates must hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks from a recognized university and possess a minimum of two years of post-qualification experience in sectors like Ship Building, Ship Repair, Marine related companies, Ports, or Government/Semi-Government establishments.
Proficiency in working in a computerized environment and the ability to communicate in Hindi or Bengali are also required. The upper age limit for applicants is 30 years as of 12 July 2024, with relaxations applicable for SC, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen as per government norms.
The salary ranges from Rs. 37,000 to Rs. 40,000 per month. Qualifications Details for CSL Recruitment 2024
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 60% marks from a recognized University.
- Minimum of two years post qualification experience in a Ship Building Company or Ship Repair Company or Marine related Company or Port or Engineering Company or Government Company or Establishment or Semi-Government Company or Establishment.
- Proficiency and experience of working in a computerized environment.
- Ability to communicate in Hindi/Bengali.
Age Limit for CSL Recruitment 2024
- The upper age limit prescribed for the post shall not exceed 30 years as on 12 July 2024 i.e. applicants should be born on or after 13 July 1994.
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste (SC) applicants in post reserved for them.
- Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen shall be as per Government of India guidelines. However, in no case, age limit after applying all age relaxations shall exceed 45 years.
Pay Scale for CSL Recruitment 2024
The remuneration for the position is structured as follows: In the first year, the consolidated pay is ₹37,000 per month. Moving into the second year, the consolidated pay increases to ₹38,000 per month, with an additional compensation of ₹3,000 per month for extra hours worked.

Application fee of ₹ 400/- (Non refundable, plus bank charges extra) should be remitted using the Online payment options (Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking/wallets/UPI etc) which can be accessed through our Online application facility from 24 June 2024 to 12 July 2024. No other mode of payment shall be accepted.
Selection Process for CSL Recruitment 2024
- The selection process for this position involves an Objective Type Test and a Personal Interview, with marks allocated as follows: Objective Type Test carries 50 marks, Personal Interview 20 marks, and a Powerpoint presentation assessing Work Experience contributes 30 marks, making a total of 100 marks for the final selection.
- The Objective Type Test will be conducted across various centres in West Bengal at the discretion of CKSRU. It will be a 60-minute exam comprising 50 Multiple Choice Questions divided into General Knowledge (10 marks) and Subject Based (40 marks) sections. Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking. The selection list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Objective Type Test.

The application consists of two phases – One time Registration and Submission of application against the post applicable. Applicants should not submit more than one application. Application once submitted shall be final.
- Applicants meeting the notified requirements may do the One time Registration in the SAP Online portal and submit their application. The facility to submit their application can be accessed through the website www.cochinshipyard.in (Career page, CKSRU, Kolkata) from 24 June 2024 to 12 July 2024. Application submitted direct or by any other mode shall not be accepted.
