CSIR CSMCRI Recruitment 2024 Notification Out Project Associate I, Project Assistant or Technical Assistant Vacancies, Check Eligibility at csmcri.res.in
CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute in Bhavnagar is seeking applicants for multiple temporary positions related to the project "Scale up of Indigenous membrane/modules and pilot plant for water softening and wastewater treatment." The positions include 4 Project Associate I roles, requiring M. Sc. in Chemistry for 2 posts, B. Tech/ B.E. in Chemical Engineering for 1 post, and B. Tech/ B.E. in Mechanical Engineering for another post.
Desirable experience includes expertise in polymeric membrane synthesis and characterization, with preference given to candidates with M. Tech/ M. E. qualifications. Emoluments are in accordance with CSIR guidelines, with higher pay for those selected through national eligibility tests or exams conducted by central government departments.
Additionally, there are 2 openings for Project Assistant/Technical Assistant roles, open to candidates with B. Sc./ 3 Years Diploma in Engineering and Technology. Emoluments for these positions are fixed, and the maximum age limit is 50 years.

Qualifications Details for CSIR CSMCRI Recruitment 2024
Project Associate I:
- M. Sc. in Chemistry (02 post), B. Tech/ B.E. in Chemical Engineering (01 post), B. Tech/ B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (01 post)
- Candidate having M. Sc. in Chemistry with experience in the field of polymeric membrane synthesis and characterization is desirable. Candidate having M. Tech/ M. E. will be preferred. The selected candidate will have to work on the project entitled “Scale up of Indigenous membrane/modules and pilot plant for water softening and wastewater treatment”. The candidate will be working on polymeric membrane synthesis, characterization, process development and demonstration of the processes.
Project Assistant/Technical Assistant:
- B. Sc./ 3 Years Diploma in Engineering and Technology (02 post)
- The selected candidate will have to work on the project entitled “Scale up of Indigenous membrane/modules and pilot plant for water softening and wastewater treatment”. The candidate will be working on polymeric membrane synthesis, characterization, process development and demonstration of the processes.
Age Limit for CSIR CSMCRI Recruitment 2024
- For Project Associate-1 Maximum 35 years. As on the last date of receipt of applications through email i.e. 14th May, 2024. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.
- For Project Assistant/Technical Assistant Maximum 50 years. As on the last date of receipt of applications through email i.e. 14th May, 2024. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.
Pay Scale for CSIR CSMCRI Recruitment 2024
Project Associate I:
- The salary follows CSIR guidelines: Rs. 31,000/- per month plus HRA for scholars selected through national eligibility tests like CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or national-level examinations conducted by central government departments;
- Rs. 25,000/- per month plus HRA for candidates not selected through the aforementioned criteria.
Project Assistant or Technical Assistant: Emoluments as per CSIR guidelines. Rs. 20,000/- pm + HRA
Selection Process for CSIR CSMCRI Recruitment 2024
Applications received by email will be scrutinized based on certain criteria and only shortlisted candidates as are eligible as per the criteria will be asked to attend an interview using a hybrid mode (online and walk-in- Interview) decided by the institute. The details of the interview will be sent to the shortlisted candidates by email.
