Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu, is seeking applications from officials of Indian Railways, PSUs, and government organizations for the position of General Manager (Tracks) on a deputation basis.
The selected candidate will have the option to draw pay from their parent organization with deputation and project allowances or receive equivalent cadre IDA pay scale in CMRL with additional allowances. The position requires a B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute, along with a minimum of 20 years of experience in Group-A service, particularly in major rail road construction, maintenance projects, and metro and railway projects.
Expertise in track alignment, laying, welding, bridge construction, viaducts, contract management, and coordination with other departments is desired. Qualifications Details for CMRL Recruitment 2024
- Should be a B.E / B.Tech Graduate in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute / University, approved by AICTE / UGC
- Should be an officer in SAG grade with minimum of 20 years of experience in Group-A service.
- Should have experience in major Rail Road Construction / Maintenance Projects / Metro and Railway Projects with hands on experience in track alignment & laying, welding of rail joints by mobile flash welding and placing of points & crossings.
- Experience in construction and maintenance of Track works, Bridges, Viaduct, Contract Management, Installation and Commissioning of turnouts and coordination with other departments like operation / signal / Rolling stock & OHE will be an added advantage.
Age Limit for CMRL Recruitment 2024
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is in search of a General Manager, with one vacancy available. The ideal candidate should not exceed 55 years of age as of the notification date, which is May 9, 2024; however, there may be relaxation in age for deserving candidates.
Pay Scale for CMRL Recruitment 2024
The deputationist shall have the option either to draw pay being drawn in the parent organization with deputation allowance and project allowance at 10% of Basic Pay each. (or) To draw equivalent cadre IDA pay scale in CMRL with IDA, HRA and Cafeteria Allowance (20% of Basic Pay).
Selection Process for CMRL Recruitment 2024
- Merely meeting the above qualifications and experience shall not entitle a candidate to be selected for interview. Only short-listed candidates will be notified for interview. CMRL reserves the right to shortlist the candidates. Acceptance or rejection of the application of the candidates will be at the sole discretion of Management.
- Candidates attempting to influence or interfere with the selection process will be rejected summarily and be declared disqualified for future CMRL recruitments
