The Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA) has announced recruitment for three positions: Research Associate (one post), Young Professional II, and Field Assistant. The Research Associate position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences with specialization in Aquaculture, Fish Genetics and Breeding, or Marine Biology/Marine Biotechnology, along with relevant experience.
The Young Professional II position requires a Master's degree in Fish Genetics & Breeding, Fish Health, Aquaculture, or related fields, along with experience in shrimp aquaculture. The Field Assistant position requires a diploma or bachelor's degree in Fisheries Science, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related disciplines, along with relevant working knowledge.
The salary for Research Associate is Rs. 55,000/- per month, Young Professional II is Rs. 42,000/- per month, and Field Assistant is Rs. 18,600/- per month. The maximum age limit varies for each position, and the selection process involves an interview conducted on 30th April 2024 through suitable online platforms or in person. Position, Vacancy for CIBA Recruitment 2024
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for recruitment of Research Associate (One Post), for the “Development of indigenous shrimp (Indian white shrimp) Aquaculture: Genetic improvement program of Penaeus indicus, Phase - I” under funded project of this institute.
Qualification for CIBA Recruitment 2024
Research Associate
- Ph. D or equivalent degree in Life Sciences with specialization in Aquaculture, Fish Genetics and Breeding, Marine Biology / Marine Biotechnology. or
- Three year’s experience on shrimp breeding and shrimp hatchery management, shrimp farming, shrimp nursery and grow-out farming, design and development experience after M.F.Sc., / M.Sc / M.Tech with at least one research paper in science citation indexed (SCI) journal.
- Working knowledge on shrimp breeding and shrimp hatchery management, technical skill in artificial insemination, induced maturation of penaeid shrimps, shrimp farm managements as evident through dissertation / project work / research publication or work experience certificate.
Young Professional II
- M.F.Sc in Fish Genetics & Breeding or Fish Health or Aquaculture or Fish Nutrition including Bio chemistry; M.Tech (Biotechnology) or any professional Degree in Molecular Biology or Bio technology with 5 years Integrated Degree or Masters in Zoology or Marine Science or Branch of Aquaculture or Biotechnology or
- Genetics with 2 years work experience in shrimp aquaculture including hatchery or disease diagnostics through university or institute or public funded institute projects or limited company
- Working knowledge and experience in molecular biology, disease diagnostics, disease screening of OIE listed shrimp pathogens and molecular techniques. Technical skill in artificial insemination, induced maturation of penaeid shrimps
Field Assistant
- Diploma (Fisheries Science and Related subjects) / B.F.Sc/ B.Sc. (Zoology) / B.Sc. (Microbiology) / B.Tech. (Biotech) / B.Sc. (Biotechnology / Bio-informatics) / B.Sc. (Marine Science) or equivalent qualification in related discipline.
- Working knowledge on shrimp seed production, water quality analysis, algal live feed culture, nursery and grow out rearing of shrimps, shrimp hatchery management, biological data analyst and bioinformatics, shrimp farm managements as evident through dissertation / project work / research publication or work experience certificate.
Pay Scale for CIBA Recruitment 2024
Research Associate: Pay@ Rs.55,000 /- + HRA per month
Young Professional II: Pay@ Rs.42,000 /- per month (Consolidated)
Field Assistant: Pay@ Rs.18,600 /- per month (Consolidated)
Age Limit for CIBA Recruitment 2024
Research Associate: Maximum 40 years for men and 45 years for women as on date of interview. Age limits are relaxable for SC / ST / OBC candidates as per rules
Young Professional II: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on date of interview. Age limits are relaxable for SC / ST / OBC candidates as per rules.
Field Assistant: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on date of interview. Age limits are relaxable for SC / ST / OBC candidates as per rules.
Selection Procedure for CIBA Recruitment 2024
- Date & Time of interview: Will be intimated by e-mail
- Mode of interview: Suitable online platform / personally
- Communication will be sent to the short-listed candidates only by e-mail to attend the interview.
- The candidates who have received e-mail should appear for the online / offline interview with the required documents. The Director, ICAR-CIBA reserves the right to accept or reject any applications.
