The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), ACB Bhopal branch, seeks to hire three retired Police Officers or Officials, up to the rank of Inspector, as Consultants for Pairvi work in trial courts located at Bhopal, Indore, and Gwalior. Eligible candidates must be retired from Central or State Government service, with a maximum of four years since retirement, and possess at least three years of experience in investigation, prosecution, or court duty during criminal case trials.
The duties of the Consultants include assisting law officers during court hearings, obtaining court processes, preparing witnesses before their court appearances, identifying crucial witnesses, coordinating document management, and ensuring the disposal of relevant documents post-judgment. Eligibility Criteria for CBI Recruitment 2024
The requirement is for retired police officers or officials from either the Central Police Organizations or State Police to work as Pairvi Officers. Eligible candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in investigation, prosecution, or court duty during criminal case trials.
Pay Scale for CBI Recruitment 2024
- In case of Central/State Government retirees covered under the CCS (Pension) Rules, a fixed monthly amount shall be admissible arrived at by deducting the basic pension (without commutation, if any) from the pay drawn at the time of retirement. The amount of remuneration so fixed shall remain unchanged for the term of the contract.
- There will be no annual increment/ percentage increase during the contract period.
- While fixing remuneration in case of Central/State Government retirees covered under the National Pension System (NPS), an amount equivalent to 30% of the last basic pay as drawn at the time of retirement shall be deducted from the last basic pay and the resultant amount shall be the fixed monthly amount as remuncration (DOPT OM dated 18.10.23).No increment and dearness allowance shall be allowed during the term of the contact
General Terms for CBI Recruitment 2024
- The candidate should have retired from Central / State Government and should have experience in investigation of prosecution or court duty in a criminal court of law.
- The candidate should not have completed more than 4 years after his/her superannuation from government service.
- The consultant(s) shall have to work as per the working hours of the CBI. However, depending on the exigency of work, one may be required to come early or sit late to complete the time bound work or attend office on holidays. No extra remuneration or fee would be payable if work requires late sitting or coming on holidays.

Eligible retired officers, having good health and willing to work as Pairvi Officer on contractual basis may submit their applications within due date along with a copy of PPO, LPC/Last Salary Slip and APARs of last 05 years. The application forms may be downloaded from CBI website (www.cbi.gov.in)
The completed application form in the prescribed format along with requisite documents may be sent by Regd./ Speed Post to the Office of Head of Branch, CBI, Anveshan Parisar, Char Imli, Bhopal - 462016 so as to reach on or before 15.05.2024. Applications can also be submitted online by registering oneself on CBI website and filling the application online form. Incomplete application or applications received after last date are liable to be rejected.
