Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Driver Cadre Personnel, aiming to re-engage retired personnel for driving duties in BARC, Mumbai. Applicants should have retired from the Driver Cadre of DAE/ its Constituent Units and be below 65 years of age.
Valid driving licenses for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) are required, along with medical fitness certificates. The selected personnel will receive a fixed monthly remuneration, transport allowance, and paid leave. Applications must be submitted by May 24, 2024, through the prescribed format to the Chief Administrative Officer (Personnel) at BARC, Mumbai.

Position, Vacancy for BARC Recruitment 2024
Re-engagement of Driver Cadre Personnel Retired on Superannuation from DAE/ its Constituent Units for Performing Driving duties in BARC, Mumbai.
Qualification for BARC Recruitment 2024
- Applicant should have retired on superannuation from Driver Cadre of DAE/ its Constituent Units and should be below the age of 65 (Sixty Five) years. Those who are retiring on superannuation w.e.f. 30.06.2024 are also eligible to apply.
- Applicant against whom departmental proceedings or criminal cases are contemplated/ pending or who have been penalized for misconduct during the period of preceding (10) years will not be eligible for consideration.
- Applicant should possess a valid driving licence for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) issued by the Competent Authority. Licence should be valid throughout the currency of re-engagement.
- Applicant should be medically fit to perform the duties of the Driver and is required to submit Medical Fitness Certificate to this effect, at the time of re- engagement.
- Further, Periodic medical check-ups during the tenure will be carried out at the discretion of the Department and in case, it is found that the re-engaged driver is unfit to perform the duties of the Driver, his re-engagement shall be terminated with immediate effect.
Pay Scale for BARC Recruitment 2024
- A fixed monthly remuneration @ 50% of the Last Pay drawn shall be admissible to the re-engaged personnel.
- Paid leave absence @ 1.5 days for each completed month of service will be allowed. Accumulation of leave beyond the calendar year will not be allowed.
- A fixed amount towards Transport Allowance @ 50% of the Transport Allowance drawn at the time of retirement shall be admissible.
- No Increment, Dearness Allowance and HRA shall be admissible during the term of re-engagment.
- Retired personnel re-engaged as Drivers may be allowed TA/DA on official tour, if any, as per their entitlement at the time of retirement.
- Re-engaged person will not be entitled to contribute to GPF, gratuity etc. for the period of re-engagement.
Place of Posting for BARC Recruitment 2024
Applications are invited from Driver Cadre Personnel retired on superannuation from DAE/ its Constituent Units for performing Driving duties in BARC, Mumbai . The place of work will be BARC, Mumbai/ Navi Mumbai/ EHPPL project at Kalyan as considered necessary to meet functional needs.

- Retired personnel of Driver Cadre who are willing to perform the work indicated in the enclosed 'Scope of Work' can submit their applications in the prescribed format along with their recent passport sized photograph duly affixed and a copy of the Pension Payment Order.
- BARC reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reasons thereof.
- Last date for receipt of applications is 24.05.2024. The applications received after the last date will not be entertained.
- The applications shall be forwarded by post/ by hand in sealed cover to: Chief Administrative Officer (Personnel), Central Complex, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre - 400 085 Trombay, Mumbai-400 085.
