APSC is inviting applications for the position of Electrical Inspector in Assam, with two posts available. Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam, providing proof through a valid Permanent Resident Certificate or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate. The age limit is 21-38 years, with relaxations up to 43 years for SC/ST candidates and up to 41 years for OBC/MOBC candidates. Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) have further age relaxations.
Applicants must hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized university. The salary for the position ranges from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 1,10,000 per month, with a Grade Pay of Rs. 12,700, along with other allowances as per Assam State Government norms.

Qualifications Details for APSC Recruitment 2024
- The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- As a domicile proof of the candidate, he/she must upload a copy of the valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purpose/Employment Exchange Registration Certificate will be treated as proof of residency.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
Age Limit for APSC Recruitment 2024
For SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, making it up to 43 years. For OBC/MOBC candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years, making it up to 41 years, as per Government Notification No. ABP. 6/2016/9 dated April 25, 2018. For Ex-Servicemen:
- Maximum age is 50 years as of January 1, 2024, for Unreserved category.
- Further relaxed by 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates.
- Further relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, as per Government Notification No. ABP. 48/2009/84 dated December 19, 2022. (iv) Persons with benchmark disabilities (PWBD) have a relaxation of 10 years irrespective of SC/ST/OBC and UR categories, as per Government Memorandum No. ABP 180/2017/105 dated January 7, 2010.
Pay Scale for APSC Recruitment 2024
The scale of pay for the position of Electrical Inspector at APSC includes a salary range of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- per month, along with a Grade Pay of Rs. 12,700/-. This is within Pay Band - 4, and other allowances are provided as per the norms applicable to employees of the Assam State Government. The position has two vacancies available.
Application Fee for APSC Recruitment 2024
Under the Digital India initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has introduced an online recruitment portal in collaboration with CSC-SPV, a MeitY approved organization. Each candidate applying through this portal will be charged a processing fee of Rs. 40.00/- plus 18% tax, totaling Rs. 47.20/-, as per Government Notification No. FEG.32/2016/8-A dated October 28, 2016, communicated via letter No. ABP.60/2014/11 dated February 2, 2018.
The application fees for different categories are:
- General category: Rs. 250 + processing fee Rs. 47.20, totaling Rs. 297.20
- SC/ST/OBC/MOBC categories: Rs. 150 + processing fee Rs. 47.20, totaling Rs. 197.20
- BPL and PwBD categories: Nil application fee + processing fee Rs. 47.20, totaling Rs. 47.20

- Applicants are required to apply online through APSC's recruitment website. No other means/mode of application will be accepted and the Application will be summarily rejected. Applicants who have not registered yet, in Online Recruitment Portal of APSC are first required to go to the APSC's recruitment website https://apscrecruitment.in and register themselves by clicking on 'Register Here' link and comolete the One Time Reaistration(OTR) process by providina basic details.
