The Centre of Environmental Studies at the University of Allahabad, Prayagraj, is seeking applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a SERB-funded project titled "Understanding the impact of extreme climate events on the mineral soil carbon pools in Bundelkhand region of Central India," led by Dr. Jitendra Ahirwal.

The ideal candidate should possess an M.Sc. in Environmental Science or Soil Science with a minimum of 55% marks and should be qualified in NET or GATE with a valid scorecard. Desirable qualifications include research experience in soil analysis, processing geospatial data, statistical software, and an interest in conducting long-term field experiments.

The fellowship for the position is Rs. 31,000/- plus HRA. The age limit for applicants is 28 years with relaxation up to 5 years for reserved categories and females. The initial appointment is for one year, renewable for another year based on performance, and is temporary, co-terminus with the project.
