The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), an organization under the Government of India responsible for recruiting staff across various ministries, departments, and subordinate offices, includes a chairman, two members, and a secretary-cum-controller of examinations. In January 2023, the SSC made the historic decision to conduct the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff examination in 13 Indian languages, in addition to Hindi and English.
