The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI) is conducting a walk-in interview on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. to recruit six Crane Operators on a direct contract basis for MSV vessels. Candidates must have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a National Trade Certificate in relevant trades (Fitter, Marine Fitter, Diesel/Motor Mechanic, Machinist, or Welder) and at least one year of experience as a Crane Operator.
Preference is given to those approved by ONGC and with experience on ONGC MSVs. Applicants must possess a valid Indian CDC, Passport, PAN Card, INDOS number, and PCC, and must have completed all required STCW courses, H2S, and STSDSD training from DG approved institutes.
They must also be medically fit for sea service. Selected candidates will undergo document verification, an interview, a medical examination, and, if fit, will be posted on vessels according to availability. SCI offers prevailing day rates and terms per the NMB-INSA Collective Bargaining Agreement but does not guarantee contractual employment or job placement for selected candidates.

Qualifications Details for Shipping Corporation of India Recruitment 2024
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from recognized polytechnic or National Trade Certificate in the trade of Fitter/Marine Fitter or Diesel / Motor Mechanic or Machinist or Welder issued by National Council of Training in Vocational Trade, Ministry of Labour, Government of India (NCTVT) or by the Industrial Training Institute of State Government (ITI). Minimum One Year of Rank experience of Crane Operator or
- Crane Operator having minimum One year of Rank experience on board any MSVs of ONGC (Samudra Nidhi, Samudra Sarvekshak, Samudra Prabha & Samudra Sevak). Preference will be given to the candidates who are approved by ONGC and have sailed on board any ONGC MSVs

Selection Process for Shipping Corporation of India Recruitment 2024
- On selection day at given time all applicants to muster/gather in selection hall.
- Designated officers from FP Dept. and Operation division of SCI will be present in Selection Hall for selection as per requirement.
- After verification of all documents and selection in interview, candidates will be sent for medical examination.
- Thereafter medically fit Crane Operator will be posted on the vessels subject to completion of joining formalities, etc.
