Overview: JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) conducts counselling for seat allocation in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The Joint Admission Board (JAB) oversees policies for IIT seat allocation, while the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) manages NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

Eligibility: Students qualifying for JEE Main 2024 and/or JEE Advanced 2024 are eligible for JoSAA counselling.

Steps Involved:

1. Registration for JoSAA Counselling 2024:

   • Students need to register online using their JEE Main 2024 registration number and password.
   • They can modify their password and contact details during registration.

2. Choice Filling and Locking of Choices:

   • After registration, students log in to fill their preferred choices of colleges in order.
   • Choices must be locked within the specified time frame (usually ten days).

3. Mock Seat Allotment:

   • A mock seat allotment helps students gauge their chances based on chosen preferences.
   • After mock allotment, students can modify their choices before final locking.

4. Seat Allotment Result:

   • JoSAA announces seat allotment results, typically starting with Round 1 on a specified date (e.g., June 20, 2024).
   • Students check their allotment status using their application number and password.
   • Options include accepting the seat, declining it, or accepting with the option to participate in subsequent rounds.
