IIT Ropar is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a six-month position, extendable up to 36 months, with a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 37,000. Candidates should have an M.E./M.Tech. in Water Resources Engineering, Remote Sensing and GIS, or equivalent, with a good academic record and GATE score. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with similar academic achievements is accepted.
Integrated Masters degrees in relevant fields are also considered. Experience with GIS applications and surface water hydrology, along with proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or R, is preferred. The selection process involves shortlisting candidates for interviews, either in-person or online, with no TA/DA provided.

Qualifications Details for IIT Ropar Recruitment 2024
- M.E./M.Tech. in Water Resources Engineering or Remote Sensing and GIS or Equivalent from a recognized institute and with an exceptionally good academic record with good GATE score.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent from a recognized institute and with an exceptionally good academic record with good GATE score.
- Integrated Masters degree in relevant field from a recognized institute and with an exceptionally good academic record.
- Hands on experience on GIS applications, Surface Water Hydrology applications (Proof: Portfolio and/or experience certificate)
- Exposure to coding in MATLAB, Python, R, etc.
Pay Scale for IIT Ropar Recruitment 2024
IIT Ropar is seeking a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a position of 6 months, extendable up to 36 months or until project closure, whichever comes first. The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly emolument of Rs. 37,000.
Selection Process for IIT Ropar Recruitment 2024
Shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview either in person or online mode. No TA/DA will be admissible for the applicants called for interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted through email.
