IIT Roorkee Recruitment 2024 Notification Out Junior Research Fellow Vacancies, Check Eligibility at iitr.ac.in
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under Prof. Prakash Biswas at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. The project, sponsored by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), focuses on developing a process for converting carbon dioxide (CO2) into lower olefins. Candidates must hold a CSIR/UGC-NET/GATE qualified M.Tech./M.E or equivalent in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology/Allied disciplines in Engineering and Sciences, or a B.Tech./B.E. with a minimum CGPA of 8.0/10 from a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) with a valid GATE score.
Emoluments include a monthly fellowship of Rs 31,000/- + HRA for JRFs for the initial two years, along with additional benefits. Selected candidates will be considered as IOIITR Research Fellows and receive 25% higher emoluments. The duration of the project is a maximum of 5 years. Job responsibilities include catalyst synthesis, characterization, performance evaluation, and micro-kinetic modeling. Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates on equal qualification and experience basis, and no TA/DA is admissible for the interview.
The selected candidate may have the opportunity for admission to the Ph.D. program, subject to approval from the Director of R&D, IOCL. Application deadline is 25/05/2024, and the interview is tentatively scheduled for 30/05/2024 at the Department of Chemical Engineering.

Qualifications Details for IIT Roorkee Recruitment 2024
CSIR/UGC-NET/GATE qualified M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology/Allied disciplines in Engineering and Sciences. B.Tech./B.E. in the above disciplines with a minimum CGPA of 8.0/10 graduated from a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) with valid GATE score are also eligible. CSIR/UGC-NET/GATE score should not be more than 5 years old.
Pay Scale for IIT Roorkee Recruitment 2024
- JRF: Rs 31,000/- + HRA for initial two years (per month per candidate)
- SRF: Rs 35,000/- + HRA for the next three years (per month per candidate)
Additional 25% Fellowship:
- JRF as above + Rs 7,750/- (per month per candidate)
- SRF as above + Rs 8,750/- (per month per candidate)
Contingency Grant: Rs 20,000/- (Twenty Thousand only) per year per
candidate
