The project titled "Identification and characterization of fungal effectors and host factors in rice-false smut pathosystem" (EAP-382) at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack, is seeking candidates for three temporary positions: Senior Research Fellow (SRF), Agricultural Field Operator (AFO), and Young Professional-I (YP-I).
The SRF position offers a monthly remuneration of Rs. 31,000/- plus HRA, requiring a Master's degree in Biotechnology, Agricultural Biotechnology, Botany, or Life Science with NET qualification and research experience. The AFO position offers Rs. 18,000/- per month consolidated, requiring either Matric with +2 Vocational/Diploma in Agriculture or Matric with two years of agricultural field experience. The YP-I position offers Rs. 30,000/- per month consolidated, requiring a graduate degree in Agriculture, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or Botany. The age limit for the positions varies from 18 to 50 years with relaxations for certain categories.
The interview is scheduled for June 4th and 5th, 2024, at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack, and candidates must bring original educational certificates, experience certificates, and a recent passport-size photograph. The project duration is until August 31, 2025, or completion, whichever is earlier, and appointments are subject to the scheme/project's continuation. No TA/DA is provided, and canvassing will lead to disqualification. Candidates currently employed need a no-objection certificate. The Director reserves the right to modify the number of positions and cancel the recruitment process.

Qualifications Details for ICAR-NRRI Recruitment 2024
Senior Research Fellow (SRF): M.Sc. (Biotechnology / Agricultural Biotechnology / Botany / Life Science) with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s Degree or Candidate having Post Graduate degree in Biotechnology / Botany / Life Science with 03 years Bachelor's degree and 02 years Master's Degree should have NET qualification with 2 years of research experience.
Agricultural Field Operator (AFO): Matric with +2 Vocational / Diploma in Agriculture related subject or Matric with two (02) years of working experience in agricultural field from reputed organization.
Young Professional-I (YP-I): Graduate in Agriculture / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Botany
Age Limit for ICAR-NRRI Recruitment 2024
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): 35 years for men and 40 years for women
- Agricultural Field Operator (AFO): Min. 18 years and max. 50 years
- Young Professional-I (YP-I): Min. 21 years and max. 45 years with relaxation as per rule

Walk-in details for ICAR-NRRI Recruitment 2024
- The above position(s) is/are purely temporary and is co-terminus with the scheme/project. The service of appointed candidate will stand terminated automatically after expiry of the scheme/project or completion of period indicated in the selection oferr whichever is earlier and the candidate will not have any right for absorption in NRRI/ICAR. The above age limits are relaxable for SC, ST and OBC candidates as per Govt. of India norms
