Applications are invited for a walk-in-interview for the temporary position of Junior Research Fellow under the DBT funded project "Characterization of saponin polymorphism in irradiation-induced TILLING population of soybean cultivar NRC-142" at ICAR-Indian Institute of Soybean Research, Indore. Eligible candidates with a postgraduate degree in Basic Science (Biochemistry/Botany/Genetics) or a graduate/postgraduate degree in professional courses (Biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology/Agricultural Biotechnology/Plant Breeding) selected through national eligibility tests (e.g., CSIR-UGC-NET, GATE, GPAT) are encouraged to apply.
Desirable qualifications include experience with molecular markers, marker-assisted plant breeding, hybridization in soybean, field trials, data management, and germplasm characterization. The position is temporary, lasting up to three years, with an initial contract until March 31, 2025, and extendable based on performance and funding.
The monthly emoluments are ₹37,000 + 18% HRA for the first two years and ₹42,000 + 18% HRA for the third year. The maximum age limit is 35 years for men and 40 years for women, with applicable age relaxation for reserved categories. Qualifications Details for ICAR-IISR Recruitment 2024
- Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (Biochemistry / Botany / Genetics) OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in professional courses (Biotechnology / Plant Biotechnology / Agricultural Biotechnology / Plant Breeding) selected through a process described through any one of the following:
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC-NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), GATE and GPAT.
- The selection process through National Level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc., IISER etc.
- Experience in use of molecular markers and marker-assisted plant breeding / Experience of hybridization in soybean; experience in conduction of field trials, data recording, data entry in excel/word in computer; report compilation; experience in germplasm characterization and evaluation.
