About Haryana Public Service Commission

The Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC), a constitutional body of the Government of Haryana established under Article 315 of the Indian Constitution, is responsible for conducting exams to select candidates for civil services and other government positions.

The HPSC annually administers the Haryana Civil Services (HCS) exam to choose candidates for state civil services and related roles. The HCS prelims exam consists of two papers, each worth 100 marks and lasting two hours. Paper I is General Studies, bilingual in Hindi and English, and features multiple-choice questions.

Paper II is the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT), also bilingual and composed of multiple-choice questions. A quarter mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. The CSAT paper is qualifying, requiring a minimum passing score of 33%.
