The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) has released the Class 10 Drawing course curriculum for the academic year 2024-2025. This syllabus aims to cultivate students' artistic talents, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and visual expression. The curriculum emphasizes both practical skills and theoretical knowledge to enrich students' understanding and proficiency in drawing.

HBSE Class 10 Drawing Syllabus 2024-2025
Unit-I: Introduction
Introduction of Art.
Fundamentals of Visual Arts, The Elements, Principle of Art and Limbs of Art. Importance of Art in Daily Life.
Unit-II: Methods and Materials of Painting
Understanding and appropriate use of :
Painting Materials- Poster Colours, Water Colours, Acrylic & Fabric Colours, Oil Colours, Oil Pastels Geometry Box and varnish
Different types of Drawing Sheets, Brushes, Markers, Scale & Drawing Board, Mixing Plate, Tape, Charcoal, Easel stand.
Still Life Drawing
Unit-III: History of Indian Art
Appreciation of Indian Art covering selected paintings, sculptures and architectural glimpses:
- Painting-
- Bodhisattava Padmapani (Ajanta)
- Mother Teresa (M.F. Hussain)
- Sculptures-
- Ashokan Lion capital (Mauryan Period)
- Natraj (Chola Period)
- Architecture-
- Kailashnatha Temple, (Ellora, Maharashtra)
- Indian Folk Art- Paintings : Sanjhi, Madhubani and Warli Land scape, still life and Social Poster with colours.
Criteria of Theory and Practical Examination
1.There will be an Annual Examination based on the entire syllabus.
2.The Annual Examination will be of 60 marks, Practical Examination will be of 20 marks and 20 marks weightage shall be for Internal Assessment.
3.For Practical Examination:
a) Portfolio - 20 marks
Criteria of Internal Assessment
For internal assessment there will be periodic assessment that would include:
i) For 6 marks- Three SAT exams will be conducted and will have a weightage of 06 marks towards the final Internal Assessment.
ii) For 2 marks- One half yearly exam will be conducted and will have a weightage of 02 marks towards the final Internal Assessment.
iii) For 2 marks- One pre-board exam will be conducted and will have a weightage of 02 marks towards the final Internal Assessment.
iv) For 2 marks- Subject teacher will assess and give maximum 02 marks for CRP (Classroom participation).
v) For 5 marks- A project work to be done by students and will have a weightage of 05 marks towards the final Internal Assessment.
vi) For 5 marks- Attendance of student will be awarded 05 marks as:
- 75% to 80%- 01 marks
- Above 80% to 85%- 02 marks
- Above 85% to 90%- 03 marks
- Above 90% to 95%- 04 marks
- Above 95% to 100%- 05 marks
