Goa University is conducting walk-in interviews for the position of Assistant Professor, with 47 vacancies available. The interviews will take place from June 3 to June 18, 2024, at the Council Hall, Administrative Block, Goa University. Eligible candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in a relevant subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university.

Additionally, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) or hold a Ph.D. degree meeting specific criteria outlined by the University Grants Commission. Interested candidates should register at the office of the Assistant Registrar (Teaching) half an hour before the interview, submitting a plain paper application along with self-attested copies of required certificates.

Original certificates must be presented for verification during the interview. Candidates are responsible for their own expenses, as no TA/DA will be provided. The University reserves the right to cancel the selection process without assigning any reasons. If selected, appointees will not have any claim for a permanent post.

Eligibility Criteria for Goa University Recruitment 2024

• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
• Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be or have been awarded Ph.D. degree from National Institutes of Importance are exempted from NET/SET
• The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
• The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
• An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
• The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
• The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency
• The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacqarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) The Times Higher Education (THE) OR (iii) The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai)

Walk-in details for Goa University Recruitment 2024

• The above walk-in-interview will be held in the Council Hall, Administrative Block, Goa University.
• Only candidates having prescribed qualification and meet the essential conditions will be allowed to appear for the interview.
• Candidates should register their names in the office of the Assistant Registrar (Teaching), Administrative Office, Goa University half an hour before the scheduled time of the interview.
• Application on plain paper addressed to the Registrar, Goa University, bio-data with self-attested copies of valid caste certificate, valid residence certificate and certificates pertaining to educational qualification shall be submitted at the time of registration.
• Candidate shall produce the original certificates for verification during the interview.
• Candidates appearing for interview will have to present themselves at their own expenses. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates. University reserves the right not to fill up the position/cancel the selection process at any point of time without assigning any reasons and no expenses/refund shall be payable to any applicant in such cases. If selected, the appointee shall have no claim whatsoever for any permanent post due to this appointment.
