About - Employees State Insurance Corporation

The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is a key statutory social security body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, alongside the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation. The ESIC manages a fund established by the ESI Act 1948, operating according to specified regulations.

Administratively, the organization is structured into zones, each overseen by a Zonal Insurance Commissioner. Currently, there are five zones spread across India. Each state hosts a Regional Office (RO) typically led by an Additional Commissioner or Director-level officer.
