The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is recruiting for 12 Junior Research Fellow positions, each offering a monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000 plus House Rent Allowance (HRA). The job location is Chandigarh, with walk-in interviews scheduled for June 19 and June 20, 2024.
Candidates must have an ME/M.Tech in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Remote Sensing/GIS/Geo-Informatics/Geomatics/Environmental Science with first division at both graduate and post-graduate levels, or an M.Sc./BE/B.Tech with NET/GATE qualifications in related fields.
Knowledge of programming in C/C++/Python, image processing, AI, numerical modeling, and embedded programming is required. The maximum age limit is 28 years, with age relaxations for SC/ST and OBC candidates as per government rules. The selection process includes document verification and an interview. Candidates must report to DGRE, Chandigarh by 8:30 AM, with initial screening and verification from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by interviews starting at 11:00 AM. Qualifications Details for DRDO Recruitment 2024
- ME/M.Tech in Computer Science/Computer Engineering with first division both at Graduate and Post Graduate level from a recognized University. OR M.Sc. /BE/B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE in Computer Engineering/Computer Science from a recognized University.
- Programming knowledge in C/C+ -/Python.
- Knowledge of image processing and AI.
- Candidate having the knowledge of numerical modeling/simulation and coding experience
- Science in first division with NET/GATE in the field of Physics from a recognized University.
- Candidate having the knowledge of numerical modeling/simulation and coding experience.
- ME/M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with first division both at Graduate and Post Graduate level from a recognized University. OR BE/B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE in Electronics & Communication Engineering from a recognized University.
- Embedded Programming.
- Knowledge of image processing and Al.
- ME or M.Tech in first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) in Remote Sensing/GIS/Geo-Informatics/ Geomatics/Environmental Science from a recognized University. Pay Scale for DRDO Recruitment 2024

Age Limit for DRDO Recruitment 2024
Maximum age 28 years for JRF and relaxation in age for 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC as per Govt. Rules. For field data collection, the selected person will have to regularly visit and stay in the snow bound, glaciated region of Himalaya, as per requirement.
Selection Process for DRDO Recruitment 2024
The selection through walk-in interview will be purely provisional and subject to verification of documents and original certificates. The candidature will be rejected if any mismatch/canvassing is noticed in details regarding qualification, discipline, percentage of marks or non-fulfillment of any specified criteria at the time of joining.
Walk-in date for DRDO Recruitment 2024
- Desirous candidates appearing for a walk-in interview are required to report at DGRE, Chandigarh as per the following schedule: - i Reporting time would be 08:30 AM and Applications would be accepted up to 10:00 AM. (ii) Initial screening and verification of testimonials would be done between 10:00-11:00 AM on the respective interview Date.
- Interview of the screened/short listed candidates would take place from 11:00 AM onward.
