The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has initiated Bhashini, the National Language Translation Mission, under the Digital India Programme, with the goal of leveraging natural language technologies to bridge language barriers and promote digital inclusion in India. Launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister during Digital India Week 2022, Bhashini is managed by the Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD) of the Digital India Corporation (DIC).
The platform collaborates with leading academic institutions like IITs and IIITs to develop advanced AI language models for Indian languages. Currently hosting over 1000 AI-based language models, Bhashini invites applications for a Manager (Innovation, Start-ups & Industries) position, with qualifications and experience determining remuneration. The Manager will work closely with the CEO-DIBD to oversee the Establishment of Bhashini Ecosystem Engagement Unit (EEU) operations, aligning activities with project milestones.
