What are the tie-breaking rules followed in APPSC Result 2024?
In the event of a tie in the APPSC Result 2024, where two or more candidates secure the same score in both the Preliminary and Mains Exams, tie cases will be resolved sequentially until the tie is resolved.
Among candidates with equal total marks (Main examination + interview), precedence will be given to the candidate with higher marks in the Main Examination, elevating them in the ranking.

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) originated with the formation of the state on November 1, 1956. Initially, it was known as the Andhra Service Commission, established in 1953, based on the regulations of the Madras Public Service Commission. The merger of the Andhra Public Service Commission and Hyderabad Public Service Commissions led to the formation of APPSC in 1956.
Initially, the Andhra Public Service Commission functioned with a Chairman and two Members, while the Hyderabad Public Service Commission had one Member. Subsequently, APPSC was constituted with a Chairman and three Members.
Over time, due to increased workload, the government expanded the Commission's strength to a Chairman and five Members in 1981, and later to a Chairman and seven Members in 1983. In 1994, the strength was further increased to a Chairman and nine Members, which remains the current configuration.
